Washington Huskies QB Michael Penix Jr. failed to win the Heisman Trophy, with LSU Tigers signal-caller Jayden Daniels coming out on top instead. Sure enough, it didn’t make Penix’s fans happy, with many taking it to social media to express their displeasure.
Penix finished second in the Heisman voting, though it wasn’t really close. The LSU quarterback garnered 503 first-place votes, 217 for second and 86 for third, earning him a total of 2029 points. Meanwhile, Penix had 292 first-place votes to go along 341 for second and 143 for third en route to 1,701 total points.
Bo Nix and Marvin Harrison Jr. had 885 and 352 points, respectively.

Several Washington football fans, however, felt that Penix was more deserving. Not only is Washington in the College Football Playoff after going undefeated, but also none of the other finalists made it there. He also has equally impressive stats with 33 passing touchdowns on 65.9 percent completion.
With that being said, the Huskies faithful cried robbery and took it to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on the voting.
“Crazy how Michael Penix Jr was the best player in college football this year and got robbed of the Heisman,” a commenter wrote.
Another one argued, “Michael Penix got robbed. You can’t tell me the QB with top 5 passing stats an undefeated team and a shot in the playoffs doesn’t deserve the Heisman. Jayden Daniels is great but not best player or QB in nation sorry.”
“Just watched Michael Penix get robbed on national TV. What a joke the Heisman has become,” a frustrated supporter added.
A fourth critic shared, “Wow! Did Michael penix just get robbed of the Heisman trophy ? Ouch! Undefeated and not good enough for it. Ouch!

While Michael Penix Jr. failed to bag the prestigious award, he did win the hearts of the nation with his awesome tribute to the Washington Huskies during the Heisman ceremony on Saturday.
Penix actually went viral after he showed off his rather unique jacket. Inside the suit, all the names of his Washington teammates and coaches were printed as his way of saying “Thank you” for making it possible for him to be in the Heisman conversation.
With the Heisman buzz over, though, Penix can now focus on the bigger task at hand. The Washington Huskies face the Texas Longhorns on January 1 in the Sugar Bowl for a shot at the National Championship. Sure enough, that’s something that Penix would want to win more.
