The Washington Commanders have had wide receiver Terry McLaurin on the roster throughout his career. He was a third-round selection by the Commanders in the 2019 NFL Draft. He is 28 years old.

Last season with Washington, he caught 79 passes for 1,002 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He averaged 12.7 yards per catch. According to Spotrac, he has two years remaining on his contract and they can get out of the contract after this season.

McLaurin is the top wide receiver in the offense, but the Commanders could be looking to rebuild the roster. Jahan Dotson is the other wide receiver on the roster that is very good and they just lost Curtis Samuel to the Buffalo Bills in NFL free agency.

The Steelers have been having a big offseason up to this point with moving on from quarterback Kenny Pickett and going with Russell Wilson as the starter, but bringing in Justin Fields as the backup quarterback was also a very good move for Pittsburgh.

Dionate Johnson is no longer on the Steelers’ roster at the wide receiver position. George Pickens is the top wide receiver on the Steelers, but they are looking to upgrade at that position.

No info suggesting that they have done this, but if the Steelers were poking around the Brandon Aiyuk situation, they should also be sniffing around Terry McLaurin. Checks a lot of boxes. Ohio St. guy. Productive w/ bad QB play. Anti-diva personality. Seems worth asking about.

It would be interesting to see what kind of draft pick the Commanders would want back if they did trade him away to the Steelers. Pittsburgh is looking to win now in a tough AFC North division and the Washington Commanders can very well be starting over with a new regime in place.

The Steelers are looking to upgrade offensively. San Francisco 49ers Brandon Aiyuk’s name continues to be floating around at the wide receiver position. He would be a better option for the Steelers than McLaurin, but he might be the cheaper option for Pittsburgh.
