The Washington Commanders are 9-5 this season and they will head on the road in Week 16 and face the Philadelphia Eagles (12-2). There is an outside shot that Washington can still win the NFC East, but the odds are that they will most likely be a wild card team in the NFC.
One of the teams that the Commanders will be facing in the NFC down the stretch is the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is 7-7 this season and they are trying to chase the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-6) in the NFC South standings.

It will be interesting to see how this primetime matchup goes. Also, this was the right choice for Sunday night football in Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season.

Don’t know if Washington has ever won a meaningful primetime game

Kirk Cousins is currently struggling for the Atlanta Falcons right now. Some people have been calling for him to be benched in favor of rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. It would be interesting to see how Cousins would do against his former team, the Washington Commanders.
The winner of this game will most likely get the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC. The Falcons and the Commanders should be a good time primetime matchup.
