The 12-2 Philadelphia Eagles currently sit in second place in the NFC Playoff Picture behind the 12-2 injury-depleted Detroit Lions for first place in the NFC, the first-round BYE, and home-field advantage for the postseason. Due to injuries to the Lions’ defense, the Eagles have a real shot at clinching the 1st seed. They face the Washington Commanders on the road for Week 16, the Dallas Cowboys at home for Week 17, and close against the New York Giants at home for Week 18, the regular season finale.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ veteran pass rusher may have played his last snap in the NFL nearly a month ago

Eagles’ Pro Bowl pass rusher Brandon Graham hinted during the offseason that he might retire following the end of the 2024 season. Graham played the first eleven games before suffering a significant injury to his triceps in Week 12. He suffered a torn triceps during the fourth quarter after being chipped by running back Kyren Williams against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. He initially stated that he would miss the remainder of the season.

The 36-year-old doesn’t rule out a return for a deep playoff run

During a Tuesday interview on SportsRadio 94WIP, Brandon Graham was asked about the possibility of being back if the Eagles were to make it to the Super Bowl. Graham did not close the door on a possible return for the Super Bowl, but it will ultimately depend on his health and, of course, whether they win the NFC. Here’s what he had to say about the subject matter.
“Anything is possible, so that’s how I’m gonna feel. Just know we workin’ trying to see what happens. We got to get there. Guess I’ll be ready to tell you when we get there.”

Is a return feasible?

Since a torn triceps can take anywhere from four to six months to fully recover, a potential return to the Super Bowl for Brandon Graham seems highly unlikely. The Super Bowl is on February 9, 11 weeks (roughly 2.5 months) removed from the injury. Another important caveat to consider is whether the Eagles do, in fact, reach the Super Bowl. It’s possible, but the Detroit Lions will be a tough out despite all the injuries. Finally, because this will likely be Graham’s last season in the National Football League, he might push to play, which would be a great way to end his incredible NFL career, hoisting another Lombardi Trophy.
