The Minnesota Vikings are entering another new era in 2025 as J.J. McCarthy will be under center come week one. McCarthy will have numerous weapons at his disposal this season, however, one of them will need to get through some legal trouble first.
Breaking: Vikings Learn Of Trial Date For 29-Game Super Star; JJ McCarthy Directly Impacted (Report)

Almost a year after Jordan Addison was arrested for suspected DUI, a final trial date has been set for him:
Last July, Jordan Addison was arrested by police near the Los Angeles International Airport. A highway patrol officer found Addison asleep in his vehicle after 11:00 p.m. local time, and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.
According to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, Addison’s pre-trial conference was held on Monday, and the trial date is now set for July 15. As noted by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Addison faces a potential three-game suspension.
In 2023, then-New Orleans Saints safety Marcus Maye was suspended for three games for driving under the influence. Maye accepted a plea deal to avoid jail time, was given six months’ probation and had his driver’s license suspended for six months.
A year before his arrest for suspicion of DUI, Jordan Addison was cited for speeding and reckless driving. Addison pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for speeding and had the reckless driving charge dismissed, and paid $686 in fees and fines.
To clarify, this was actually a hearing to set the date for a jury trial. Per online records, that hearing was held today. Jordan Addison’s trial date in connection to his 2024 DUI citation is now set for July 15 in Superior Court of California. Addison has pleaded not guilty. https://t.co/6OArqgbrCb

In his 2023 rookie year, Addison caught 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. He missed two games in 2024 but still caught 63 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns, helping the Vikings to a 14-3 finish that marked their best record since 1998.
The Vikings will kick off their 2025 season in prime time, when they travel to Soldier Field to face the NFC North rival Chicago Bears on ‘Monday Night Football.’ This will be the first game of the J.J. McCarthy era, as the Michigan product missed his entire rookie year recovering from surgery on a torn meniscus.
If Addison is suspended for the first three games of 2025, he’d be eligible to return in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
