The Holy War between the Utah Utes and the BYU Cougars never disappoints. Whether it be the fiery smack talk or complaints, the on-field skirmishes, or the intense back-and-forth nature of the game itself, the Holy War is the type of football that fans love (and love to hate).
The Holy War of 2024 was no different. Despite a two-score lead at halftime, the Utah Utes notched another loss by failing to score in the second half. BYU’s Will Ferrin kicked a field goal with two seconds left to take a one point lead over their bitter intrastate rivals. Many, including Utah’s athletic director, are blaming the refs or dirty tactics by BYU that led to injuries of key Utah players.
