Tyron Smith’s retirement news has shaken up the NFL world. The NFL veteran, who played for 14 seasons in the league, will sign a one-day contract with the Dallas Cowboys to announce his retirement from his beloved game, according to recent reports.
The 34-year-old offensive tackle played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2011 to 2023, and then played for the New York Jets in the previous season. However, his performance over the last few seasons has not been up to standard, especially since the player was plagued with several injuries.
NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho reacted to Tyron Smith’s retirement on Tuesday, while also giving his tribute to Zack Martin, another Dallas Cowboys player who announced his retirement this offseason.
“It’s truly sad that the Cowboys couldn’t get more out of an Offensive line with two generational players. Tyron Smith and Zack Martin are 1st ballot HOF guys, they deserved more wins.” Emmanuel Acho said about Tyron Smith as well as Zack Martin through his X account on Tuesday.

Tyron Smith was selected by the Cowboys as the ninth pick in the very first round of the 2011 NFL draft. Before stepping foot into the league, Smith played college football for the USC Trojans from 2008 to 2010.

Tyron Smith’s Former Team Has Yet To Make Decision On Micah Parsons
While Tyron Smith is getting ready to bid goodbye to his Dallas Cowboys, the team owner, Jerry Jones, seems to be still undecided on defensive end Micah Parsons’ contract extension. Parsons has been playing with the Dallas Cowboys since 2021 and is a stellar part of their defense. With his current contract coming to an end, Parsons and Jerry Jones have been locked in a standoff for some time with neither party budging.

A couple of weeks earlier, Jerry Jones stated that he has been having close conversations with Micah Parsons, and that all seems well in terms of the new deal. However, Parsons’ agent was not present during the conversations, which drew criticism from NFL fans and analysts. However, Jones has in the past negotiated multiple deals with other players in the absence of their agents, as does his habit.

With the NFL Draft Day coming up very close, the Dallas Cowboys cannot be expected to cough up a solid deal for Micah Parsons. Meanwhile, there have been rumors circulating that Parsons might simply go with another team if Jones does not get back with a response soon.
