Tyler Lockett landed with the Tennessee Titans this offseason, where he could play a vital role in No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward’s supporting cast alongside Calvin Ridley and Treylon Burks.
While there could be some anticipated growing pains for Ward in his rookie season, and the Titans are still in the midst of a complete rebuild in the AFC South, it sure sounds like landing in Tennessee is going to feel like a significant upgrade for Lockett.
Tyler Lockett Unloads on Frustrating 2024 Season

In a wildly inconsistent 2024 campaign for the Seattle Seahawks, Lockett had his least prolific season since 2016.
Before signing with the Titans, Lockett managed just 49 passes for 600 yards and two touchdowns for the Seahawks last fall. Turns out, there were some strong frustrations bubbling under the surface for Lockett, who tried to do the right thing for the better of the Seahawks and the offense at large.
“I understand the politics of the game, I understand sometimes there are so many things you need as a receiver to work out just for you to be able to get the ball,” Lockett recently told reporters. “But there is so much more that people don’t see that teams require and that teams need, which is the leadership role, or that selfless character, or different stuff like that. Sometimes it’s not about stats, but it’s about how you build each other up. So, for me, I sacrificed a lot of stuff last year (in Seattle) for the better of the team, and I just believe that is what you want to do in order to be able to try and help the team be at its best.”

As potentially one of Ward’s favorite targets this upcoming season, Lockett, 32, is optimistic that the upcoming 2025 season, in a new situation, could spark a turnaround.
“So, coming here, I know that I can still play,” he said. “I don’t think I need to prove that to anybody. I just need to continue to build in a healthy way and not try to waste my time trying to do all this proving people wrong, because sometimes it works out for you, and sometimes it just adds extra stress.”
