Lastly, the star running back’s efforts earned him an All-AAC First Team honors.
He had the option to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft since he’s played the minimum of three years in college football, stick around for another season in New Orleans, or hit the portal.
The Green Wave’s elite running back announced major career news for 2025
According to Max Olson of ESPN, Makhi Hughes has decided to enter the transfer portal for the 2025 season rather than sticking around for another season or declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. As Olson points out, Hughes should be considered one of the best, if not the best, running back available in the portal. Many Power Four teams should be interested in the All-AAC back.
