NFL legend Tom Brady caught a few strays from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ General Manager Jason Licht in light of the team drafting No. 19 pick Emeka Egbuka.
During his appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show,” Jason Licht talked about their recent draft, rookie Emeke Egbuka. While talking about their young talent, he also threw shade at legendary quarterback Tom Brady.
“To be honest with you, we’ve had quite a few Michigan people over the years,” Licht said. “We finally got rid of [Tom] Brady, [John] Spytek finally got out of here. We had to sign Ben Bredeson back because we needed, you know, a good player. But I had to offset that with an Ohio State player.”
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Emeka Egbuka with the 19th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, adding another talented wide receiver to their roster. Egbuka, who played at Ohio State, was one of the most accomplished receivers in college football, finishing his career as the Buckeyes’ all-time leader in receptions with 205 catches and ranking second in receiving yards with 2,868 yards.
The Buccaneers believe Egbuka’s football intelligence, work ethic, and playmaking ability will make him a valuable asset as they aim for a deep playoff run in the upcoming season.
