The Houston Texans Lose Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs for the Rest of the Season Due to Injury

During the Houston Texans‘ game against the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday (October 27, 2024), the team’s wide receiver Stefon Diggs suffered a nasty injury rendering him unable to play for the rest of the game.

Little did anyone know that the injury was far worse than it seemed.

Diggs went down in the middle of the game due to a knee injury which was later revealed on Tuesday (October 29, 2024) to be a torn ACL. As a result of the injury and its severity, Stefon Diggs will unfortunately have to sit out the rest of this season. This means he will not be playing alongside his teammates until the next season begins, assuming that he will have a full and healthy recovery.

Diggs was acquired by the Houston Texans in a trade from the Buffalo Bills in early April of this year. Although he has not been with the team for too very long, he has definitely proved that he belongs alongside the Texans. He will finish his first season with the Houston Texans with forty-seven receptions for four hundred ninety-six yards plus three touchdowns in just eight games.

Stefon Diggs’ injury does not fair well for the Houston Texans considering that they are already missing their Star Receiver Nico Collins. Nico Collins went down in Week 4 due to a hamstring injury, missing three games so far. Collins will miss a fourth game this Sunday, due to his requirement to sit out a minimum of four games to take the time to properly heal his injury.

However, the Houston Texans’ have stated that they have been fine without their star receiver Nico Collins. The team has won against the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and Indianapolis Colts all without the help of Collins. If they pull off a win this upcoming Thursday, they may be able to win back their star with seven wins before the trading deadline.

Diggs posted a variety of pictures on his Instagram account following the injury showing him on the field alongside his teammates. His No. 1 Jersey is present in each picture, as well as the obvious excitement, determination, and happiness radiating off of him when he is on the field alongside his teammates doing what he loves.

Diggs captioned the post by thanking everyone who has shown him and the team support during this hard time. He also makes it known that he is deeply upset by the injury and even states that it is simply just “not fair.”

He states in his Instagram caption:

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who reached out in this tough a** time it means more than you’ll ever know… s*** lame fr like s*** not fair how much work a mf put in… but s*** here I am… gotta trust God’s timing ima shake back!!! Love yaw”

Thousands of fans are cheering on the Houston Texans’ wide receiver in the comments section, wishing him a full recovery and making sure that he knows he is still a fan-favorite player. Many Buffalo Bills fans are showing him love during this time as well, although he left the Bills back in early April of this year.

This goes to show just how beloved Stefon Diggs is as a person and a football player.
