The Texas Longhorns and Quinn Ewers are getting prepared to face the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday afternoon with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Entering this game, Texas is ranked number one in the country and Oklahoma is ranked 18th in the country.

The Longhorns are favored by double digits against the Sooners, but it will be interesting to see if Oklahoma can knock off Texas once again this season. The SEC Conference has been unpredictable so far in the 2024 college football season.

Texas Longhorns Quarterback Quinn Ewers Stars In Latest Dr. Pepper Commercial With Oklahoma Sooners Quarterback Michael Hawkins Ahead Of the Rivalry Matchup

Auburn Tigers defensive lineman Jalen McLeod (35) sacks Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. (9) as Auburn Tigers take on Oklahoma Sooners at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala., on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024. Oklahoma Sooners defeated Auburn Tigers 27-21.

Ahead of the Texas and Oklahoma matchup, it is interesting that Quinn Ewers and Michael Hawkins starred in the Dr. Pepper commercial with each other. Dr. Pepper’s chief marketing Andrew Springate previously said:

“As we mark Dr Pepper’s 10th anniversary of becoming the official sponsor of the College Football Playoffs, we welcome the new changes energizing the game, as it provides us with even greater opportunities to engage with both new and long-term fans, celebrating new beginnings while embracing the traditions of fandom together.”

Interestingly, this commercial dropped right before the Texas and Oklahoma matchup this weekend. There is no love lost between the Longhorns and the Sooners.

    Fans Erupt Over the Commercial

Lol somewhere Jackson Arnold is drinking a Dr. Thunder 🫠

Damn Jackson Arnold is gone 😭

    — Red Raider Man🌵 (@redraiderman1) October 8, 2024

Damn they did buddy Jackson Arnold from Denton dirty lmao he will be a wherever Lane Kiffin is coaching next season

    — 40AcresLandLord (@40AcresLandLord) October 8, 2024

Quinn Ewers is used to hanging out with OU girls so this should be easy for him

    — Clark Kent (@DailyPlanetCW) October 8, 2024

The biggest story from the fans’ reactions is not about Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers or Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Michael Hawkins. The biggest story here is that Sooners quarterback Jackson Arnold was not in this commercial. He was benched earlier in the season and it is possible that he could be hitting the transfer portal at the end of the 2024 college football season.
