The Texas A&M Aggies finished the regular season 8-4, with a 5-3 record and sixth overall in the SEC. Since they won at least six games during the 2024 season, the Aggies have qualified for a bowl game in Mike Elko’s first season as head coach. Texas A&M will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, to play against the 6-6 USC Trojans for the Las Vegas Bowl at Allegiant Stadium on Friday, December 27 at 9:30 P.M. CT.

Aggies’s elite EDGE rusher Nic Scourton announced on Instagram that he will forego his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Here’s what the star pass rusher had to say about the subject matter.

“Howdy! I would like to thank Texas A&M and Purdue, the coaching staffs, and my teammates for a great college experience. It has been an honor, and I will be forever grateful.

“To my family and mentors, I truly appreciate the love, support and guidance you have provided me on my journey. I know that I would not be in this position without y’all. I’m excited to experience this next chapter together.

“With that being said, after much thought and consideration, I have decided to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.”

After having an impressive start to his collegiate career and playing his first two seasons with the Purdue Boilermakers, Scourton transferred to the Texas A&M Aggies for the 2024 season. Scourton had an incredible first season in the SEC, recording 37 tackles, 14 TFLs, 34 pressures, 22 stops, five sacks, and one forced fumble. He also posted a 73.4 pass rush, a 75.8 run defense, and a 76.5 overall PFF grade.

Where does the elite pass rusher rank among prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft

Bleacher Report ranks Scourton as the sixteenth-best prospect and the second-best EDGE rusher, while PFF ranks him as the tenth and second-best, and ESPN ranks him as the eighth and the fourth-best. Either way, he will more than likely be selected in the first round, if not early in the second round.
