The Tennessee Titans looked to improve their offensive tackle depth during the offseason after struggling over the past few seasons. The front office signed Dan Moore Jr. to a 4-year, $82 million contract on the first day of the tampering window. Adding Moore allowed the Titans to move JC Latham back to his natural position, right tackle.
Since Tennessee has both of its starting offensive tackle positions figured out, its former third-round pick was the odd man out.
The Tennessee Titans’ third-round pick was on the chopping block

Nicholas Petit-Frere had a rough 2024 campaign, giving up one of the most pressures, hurries, and sacks, and losing the starting right tackle job on two separate occasions. Petit-Frere surrendered 41 pressures, 26 hurries, five quarterback hits, and ten sacks in ten starts. He allowed the eighth-most pressures, the fourteenth-most hurries, the twenty-second-most quarterback hits, and the second-most sacks for an offensive tackle (h/t) PFF.
Petit-Frere lost the starting job in Week 6 after starting the first four games. He would regain the right tackle gig for Weeks 11 to 16. However, that didn’t last long as he did not start in their final two matchups of the season.

The Tennessee Titans suddenly cut struggling starter after 3 seasons

According to Jim Wyatt of the team’s website, the Titans have waived Nicholas Petit-Frere after three seasons. With a pre-June 1st cut, the front office frees up $3,406,000 in cap space and incurs a $239,129 cap hit per Over The Cap. Finally, since he was a draft pick, Petit-Frere will enter the waiver wire before he hits free agency.
