The Tennessee Titans enter the offseason with a desperate need for pass rush help, especially an EDGE rusher. Tennessee’s pass rush struggled tremendously and finished at the bottom in pressures, QB hits, and sacks, ranking 32nd in pressures, 31st in QB hits, and tied for 30th in sacks. Since they desperately need help with their pass rush, the Titans could end up selecting Abdul Carter as the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Since they are heading toward a rebuild and drafting Carter, which would solidify their woes at EDGE, they could shop players during the offseason to acquire draft capital and further prepare for the future. Highlighting one veteran pass rusher who could be dealt this offseason is their Pro Bowler.

Harold Landry is coming off a solid 2024 campaign, leading the team in TFLs, QB hits, and sacks with 71 tackles, 15 TFLs, 15 QB hits, nine sacks, and one safety in 17 starts. Landry enters the fourth year of his five-year, $87.5 million contract and is set to earn a $17.5 million base salary, with $0 guaranteed remaining and a $24.05 million cap hit in 2025 and 2026. Since he does not have any guaranteed money remaining in his contract, he turns 29 in June, and the Titans are headed toward a rebuild, the Pro Bowler is a prime trade candidate.
Titans star EDGE rusher granted permission to seek trade

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Tennessee Titans have granted Harold Landry permission to seek a trade. Landry, who turns 29 in June, has two years left on his deal, and he currently has the 8th-highest cap hit for an EDGE rusher in 2025, making him an attractive trade candidate for a contending team needing EDGE help.

Could the Pro Bowl pass rusher reunite with his former coach?

Since the New England Patriots also ranked at the bottom in pressures, QB hits, and sacks, a Harold Landry reunion with Mike Vrabel makes a lot of sense. It makes a lot of sense because Landry has familiarity with Vrabel’s scheme and played the first six seasons with him in Tennessee; the Patriots desperately need help at EDGE; they have the most cap space in the league to pull it off; and the Pro Bowler is a huge fan of his former head coach. He gave a glowing review after the final game of the 2023 season before the Titans fired him:
“Not really to be honest,” Landry said at the time, via the Nashville Post. “Because … I’ve been with him my whole career. I feel like my time I spent with him and this defensive staff, I feel like I can kind of speak on them.
“I feel like with [Vrabel], my entire career, situationally, I’ve been as prepared as I can possibly be for every game. I feel like if you just look at [the Titans’ season-ending win over Jacksonville], guys are playing hard for him, guys are wanting to win for him and … I really can’t imagine him not being the Titans head coach. I mean, I just can’t.”
