If it feels like the Miami Dolphins always turn to a backup quarterback, it’s because they do. Every year since 2016 they have had to go to a backup quarterback in some capacity. Right up there with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Teddy Bridgewater is as experienced as any of the backups they have had, as well as the most proven.
Due to unfortunate injuries, Teddy Bridgewater’s career has been up and down. When he was first drafted by the Vikings there were some questions. He quickly silenced those critics in his second season, leading the Vikings to a 11-5 record and a playoff berth. Bridgewater was even selected to a Pro Bowl that season. Bridgewater then got injured the next season and missed the entire season.
Since then, he has started for the Saints, Panthers, and the Broncos. Most impressive of all is he has a 33-30 record as a starter. So to answer the question, yes he will do just fine replacing Tua for however long Tua needs to get healthy. Not only does Bridgewater have a winning record and experience, this is by far the best weaponry he has ever competed with.
Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, Mike Gesicki, the list goes on. The speed on this offense is something Bridgewater will thrive with. He has a plethora of weapons to share the ball with and it seemed he had great chemistry with Hill in week 4 when he replaced Tua, connecting on a 64 yard deep ball.

Bridgewater will have pressure on him to perform with this team. Fans saw the potential of this team to begin the season with Tua at the helm. The Dolphins are a real threat in the AFC. He will need to keep them afloat until the Dolphins franchise QB is ready to return.
