Taylor Swift has obviously had a major impact on the NFL since starting her relationship with Travis Kelce. Her impact on TV viewership numbers and her power of marketing for the NFL as a whole has been well documented dating back to last season.
It was also reported that the record-breaking numbers in last year’s post-season and Super Bowl were in small part due to her involvement in the game and with the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, per a new survey that was just revealed, Swift has had a major impact on this year’s Fantasy Football leagues.
Taylor Swift Actually Impacts The Way Fantasy Football Players Run Their Team
The Swift-Kelce relationship has taken over America, and it brought tons of her fans to the world of NFL football in a way that no other woman has ever done. Her impact on the league’s income has been very real, but shockingly, she also has had a huge impact on fantasy football leagues.
Per a new survey from RotoGrinders.com, It was revealed just how much of an impact Swift has when it comes to fans making decisions in their own individual fantasy leagues. Per the survey that had over 3000 players:
-
In a survey of over 3,000 NFL Fantasy Football players across the USA, 49% told RotoGrinders they spend time they should be working refining their picks
-
At the extreme end, 3% claim to spend eight hours a week on NFL Fantasy Football during the time they are being paid to work
-
Over a quarter (26%) claim they would drop Travis Kelce if he broke up with Taylor Swift
-
Another 26% also said they would change their NFL Fantasy Football team based on Taylor Swift’s picks if she revealed her own selections to the public
-
Almost half (41%) also admitted to having some kind of weekly ritual that they believed influenced the success of their NFL Fantasy Football team
That is quite insane, that 26% of the players said they would drop Kelce if he broke up with Swift! A survey of over 3000 fantasy players is quite a solid sample size. What is even more shocking, is that 26% of the players would base their roster picks and make changes every week if Swift came out with her own picks for the public fans.
Swift was a bit divisive when it came to the survey as almost 40% said that they would not make any changes to their team based on the relationship status of Kelce and Swift. So there is a lot of representation on both sides of her impact on fantasy players.
Kelce has been the top tight end pick for almost a decade in the NFL, as he has produced at the very top of all players when it comes to fantasy football, but this year has been a down year for the tight end. However, he was still one of the top picks in most leagues, and we will have to see if next year brings the same result.
The survey featured a lot of other fun stats based on the large sample size, but it is shocking that over a quarter of those being sampled would let Swift decide their lineup every week!
Fantasy football players have superstitions just like the athletes that play, and per the survey, the majority of players at least agree with doing certain types of rituals during the week to get the result they want on the weekends.
