The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ star wide receiver Mike Evans had another great game in a historic match against the Atlanta Falcons. As if setting one record last week wasn’t enough, Evans sets another record on Thursday Night Football. He had two touchdowns in the first half, giving him 99 receiving touchdowns for his career, and one fumble recovery touchdown for a total of 100 TDs. When he grabs one more he will join the NFL’s top 10 list all-time receiving touchdown leaders.
His record-setting 99th score came on a 23-yard pass from quarterback Baker Mayfield and gave the Buccaneers the lead at 17-14. Evans now sits tied with such NFL greats as Don Hutson with 99 career touchdown receptions making him 11th on the NFL’s list. This performance is part of an incredible stretch for Evans, who also set the Bucs record for career scoring just one week prior.

It should be noted that Evans has 100 total touchdowns when a fumble recovery is included on his resume. Adding this accomplishment to Evans’ plate strengthens the NFL contender’s argument that the pass catcher is one of the best in the league.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Evans and Mayfield Connection
The chemistry between Mayfield and Evans was seen throughout the game, as they connected a few more times to set up another touchdown a little while later. With his consistent performances, Evans is on the brink of nearing yet another pro milestone and it’s clear that the Bucs’ will always depend on him to lead the passing attack.
All eyes will be on the NFL’s leaderboard when Evans gets his 100th receiving touchdown. For now, Buccaneers fans get to watch one of the greatest players in their franchise make history in real-time. That is always something we take for granted.
