The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off a blockbuster trade just before the start of the 2025 season. In a stunning move, Pittsburgh traded away star Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for CB Jalen Ramsey and TE Jonnu Smith.
Now, the Steelers have made a big time trade comment on TJ Watt.
Steelers Make Massive TJ Watt Trade Announcement Following Jalen Ramsey Blockbuster Deal

Now that the Steelers made their third big trade of the off-season on Monday, other teams are wondering if they will part ways with TJ Watt:
Contract negotiations between the edge rusher and the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly “not close,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Per Over the Cap, Watt has one year left on his four-year, $112 million contract.
Could the Steelers be gearing up for even more moves? According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the NFL is inquiring about the availability of the team’s top defender, TJ Watt.
“In recent weeks, multiple teams have been discussing whether they can trade for Steelers’ standout T.J. Watt, who skipped the team’s most recent minicamp,” Schefter wrote via his X account. “Pittsburgh hasn’t shown any willingness to deal Watt so far, but he’s unhappy with his contractual situation and sources believe outside team interest is likely to increase given today’s trade.”
Amid the trade rumors, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a definitive two-word response to the speculation on Monday.

“F–k no,” a team source said on Monday.
By skipping the mandatory minicamp, Watt was subject to a $17,462 fine on Day 1, $34,925 on Day 2, and $52,381 on Day 3. That’s $104,768 in accumulated fines.
It appears the Steelers and Watt are in contract negotiations as we speak. It just might not happen immediately.
At this point, the likely scenario is that Watt will re-sign with the Steelers between now and the start of the regular season.
TJ Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers have work to do on a contract extension before the start of the 2025 regular season.
The team has repeatedly stated that it wants him to remain with the franchise for the remainder of his career.
