The Chicago Bears were major participants in Pride weekend in Chicago. During the final weekend of June, Pride Month, the Bears helped with a flag football tournament that connects members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association puts on the annual event called the “Pride Bowl” at the lakefront fields at Montrose Beach in Uptown. 2025 was the second year the Bears helped out with the Pride Bowl.

Per Karen Jordan of ABC 7, over 50 teams participated in the two-day tournament. The Bears donated to the Pride Bowl and sent volunteers for the football activities.

“The Bears helped support the Pride Bowl through club donations and volunteers,” Jordan wrote. “They’re also helping create awareness for the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association and its flag football league.”

On Sunday, the Bears posted a four-word message in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Proud to celebrate Pride,” the Bears posted on X.

The Bears are taking a critical stand to support the community in a political climate that can be hostile to the culture.

Here are the responses of fans who appreciated the Bears’ effort.

“love my football team,” wrote a fan.

“Comments will be fun. Happy Pride,” posted another.

“All bears fans are welcome,” wrote a fan. “Go Bears pizza day next hmm.”
