Shedeur Sanders will definitely not play for the New Orleans Saints, according to a local reporter. Jeff Duncan, reporter for The Times-Picayune, tweeted from his X account that the Saints are surely passing up on Sanders in the 2025 NFL draft.
Sanders, the youngest son of Deion Sanders, split his college football career between the Jackson State Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes. In his senior year with the Buffaloes, the quarterback went for 4,134 yards, scoring 37 touchdowns, while managing ten interceptions for the team. In the upcoming draft, Sanders is expected to be one of the best prospects out there.
“I’m not sure who the Saints are going to pick at No. 9 on Thursday night. But I think I can safely say that it won’t be Shedeur Sanders,” Jeff Duncan tweeted through his X account about the New Orleans Saints not picking Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL draft.

The New Orleans Saints seem to have other things on their mind when it comes to the upcoming draft, other than picking Shedeur Sanders. In the 2024 NFL season, the Saints finished at the bottom of the barrel in the NFC South with only five wins and 12 defeats. The Saints played their last game of the season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, losing 27-16. The defeat showed the door for New Orleans in the tournament.

Shedeur Sanders Called ‘PR Disaster’ By Former Jets Scout
It’s a typical day for Shedeur Sanders. Another former NFL scout has criticized him and advised NFL teams to not pick his name in the 2025 draft. According to Daniel Kelly, who is a former scout for the New York Jets, the team which picks Sanders in the draft will ultimately regret their decision.
“Imagine an NFL team entrusting their franchise to a quarterback who got into a verbal confrontation with a ball boy. Shedeur Sanders is a PR disaster waiting to happen. Nobody is going to be able to say, ‘We didn’t see this coming.’” Daniel Kelly tweeted through his X account.

Kelly’s tweet refers to a verbal dispute that Shedeur Sanders had with a ball at the Colorado Pro Day sometime back. While the actual details of the confrontation are not too clear, the entire incident threw Sanders in a very negative light. This is not the only thing that Sanders is being criticized for. The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback is also being called out for his arrogant attitude and also for his unimpressive throwing abilities.
