Shedeur Sanders is preparing to play in the big leagues. NFL teams have kept their eyes on the Quarterback as he’s expected to be a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. A number of teams have been rumored to acquire Sanders. The New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, and New Orleans Saints are a few teams behind him.
However, it’s worth noting that Sanders’ draft stock has been depleting in the last few weeks. Several reports have shown a steady decline, but he still remains a top-10 favorite in the NFL draft. It’s just a matter of time before Sanders knows where he stands in the big leagues. The QB met with the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, who hold the No. 21 pick in the league.
While his draft stock has been falling, the Colorado Buffaloes have retired Shedeur Sanders’ No. 2 jersey. The team had it done at a spring football game, and Sanders was also present. The former Buffaloes star took to social media to thank the team for the love and support. He also mentioned that it was the perfect time to retire his number, given that his stock was falling.
“𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 @cubuffs 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈. #𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒚,” Sanders wrote in his IG caption.

NFL Analysts Are Unhappy About Shedeur Sanders’ Jersey Retirement
Shedeur Sanders was given an honor that many other NFL stars did not receive. Retiring his jersey has sparked controversy amongst several, especially NFL analysts. Notable Quarterbacks like Tim Tebow and Joe Burrow did not receive the same recognition.

NFL analyst David Pollack was in disbelief to hear about Sanders’ jersey retirement. Pollack feels that there was injustice done to players like Burrow and Tebow. Likewise, several NFL fans were not pleased with the Colorado Buffaloes giving huge prominence to Sanders.
Many feel that Deion Sanders’ legacy is what has brought Shedeur Sanders to this situation. Sanders is looking forward to playing his first NFL games next season. Sanders hopes to be one of the top 10 Quarterbacks to be drafted. There are also rumors of teams expressing disinterest as Sanders is not very keen.

Sanders will get to the NFL one way or the other, but it’s not going to be an easy journey. Shedeur Sanders will need to work his way through a tough competition to become a prominent NFL star.
