Former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was considered a lock to go in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. It was no surprise when Cam Ward went to the Tennessee Titans at No. 1, but Sanders was expected to fall to one of a few teams that needed a quarterback.
The New York Giants wound up taking Jaxson Dart at No. 25, the only other quarterback taken in the first round. On Day 2, Tyler Slough went to the New Orleans Saints at No. 40, Jalen Milroe was taken by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 92, and Dillion Gabriel went to the Cleveland Browns at No. 94.
Sanders is still looking for a full-time gig, along with quarterbacks Quinn Ewers, Will Howard, and Riley Leonard, to begin the fourth round on Day 3.
Sanders was the talk of the draft on Friday after failing to be selected in the first round. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network claimed it was a lock that Sanders would be drafted on Friday.
Shedeur Sanders is staying positive

Despite not being drafted, Sanders is staying positive. He posted a five-word message on X thanking God for everything.
“Thank you GOD for EVERYTHING,” Sanders posted.
Thank you GOD for EVERYTHING

Sanders put up good numbers at Colorado in 2024, throwing for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
Something else is driving his plummet to Day 3 of the draft. There have been reports that he interviewed poorly with teams in the pre-draft process.
