Shedeur Sanders sadly failed to make it to the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. It was predicted way before that the former Colorado Buffaloes will not be anywhere in the first round and will need to wait for the second or third rounds for his name to be called out.
On the first day of the NFL draft, the New York Giants made a shocking move by bringing in Jaxson Dart, who last played for the Ole Miss Rebels as a quarterback. The Giants traded with the Houston Texans to move up to the No. 25 position to pick Dart and this was mocked by renowned sports journalist and TV personality, Skip Bayless.
“SHEDEUR SANDERS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN JAXSON DART. THIS IS JUST LAUGHABLY SAD.” Skip Bayless tweeted from his X account, condemning the New York Giants for going with Dart instead of Sanders.

The move came as pretty much shocking, especially since the New York Giants showed plenty of interest in Shedeur Sanders over the last few weeks. In his senior year for the Ole Miss Rebels, QB Jaxson Dart threw for 4,279 yards, scoring 29 touchdowns, while managing six interceptions. On the other hand, Shedeur Sanders passed for 4,134 yards, scoring 37 touchdowns and ten interceptions for the Colorado Buffaloes in his senior year.
Despite Shedeur Sanders having the upper hand when it comes to stats, along with more consistency across his college football years, the young quarterback has been the target of plenty of criticism when compared to Dart. Only a few NFL analysts and experts have come out to vouch for the guy, Skip Bayless being one of them.

Shedeur Sanders Reacts After Being Rejected In The First Round Of The Draft
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders seems to be still keeping his hopes up after being rejected in the very first round of the 2025 NFL draft. After being ignored by numerous teams that previously showed interest in him, like the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants, Sanders took to social media to express his feelings.
“We didn’t expect all this, of course. But I feel like with God, anything’s possible. Everything’s possible. I don’t feel like this happened for no reason. All this is, of course, fuel to the fire. Under no circumstance, we all know this shouldn’t have happened.” Shedeur Sanders said on social media.

Sanders also seemed confident that he will be definitely picked up in the second round of the draft. He further remarked that no matter what the situation brings up, he is ‘going to be happy regardless’.
