Shedeur got overwhelming support from fans and public figures, with comments coming in even from the KFC social handle. Two comments came from Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young and former NBA star Carlos Boozer.
“Do ya thing Killa!” Young commented.
“Congrats man 💪🏽” Boozer commented.
Shedeur Sanders was once projected as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but ultimately suid to being a fifth-round pick. Despite setting Colorado’s all-time completion percentage record, scouts questioned how his skills would translate to an NFL offense, causing teams to pass on him.

Former NFL Star Thinks Shedeur Sanders Draft Slide is a “Message”
In one of the recent episodes of his podcast, former NFL star Robert Griffin III expressed his honest thoughts on the reason why Shedeur Sanders slid from being a first-round prospect to being drafted in the fifth round. For him, the reason is entirely personal against Deion Sanders, Shedeur’s father.
“Shedeur Sanders should not have dropped out of the first three rounds of the NFL draft. He dropped out of the first three rounds of the NFL Draft because it’s 100% personal,” Griffin said. “NFL GMs, scouts, and the NFL at large are trying to teach Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders a lesson.”
“A lesson that they didn’t teach the Mannings when Eli said he wasn’t going to play in San Diego, a lesson that they did not teach Andrew Luck and his family when he was the perennial No. 1 draft pick from the time he was a freshman in college, a lesson that they did not teach Baker Mayfield when he came out of Oklahoma, and a message that they did not teach Joe Burrow when he came out of LSU.”
“So what do I mean by all of that? What I mean is that all of these guys had the confidence, many of them had the bravado that is similar to what Shedeur Sanders has. But none of them were punished in the way he’s been punished.”

Shedeur Sanders had an impressive career at Colorado, playing two seasons after transferring from Jackson State. Over his time with the Buffaloes, he completed 71% of his passes for 6,452 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
