Shedeur Sanders seems to have toned quite a bit after his stock crashed in the 2025 NFL draft. The talented Colorado product was nowhere to be seen in the first, second, third, or even fourth rounds of the draft, much to everyone’s shock. In the fifth round, the Cleveland Browns turned out to be his succor and drafted him as the 144th pick.

The Cleveland Browns were one of the first teams to show a keen interest in bringing Shedeur Sanders on board, even before the season ended. In the 2024 NFL season, the Browns finished at the bottom of the AFC North after winning only three games. Cleveland played their very last game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens, losing with a disappointing 35-10.

“I feel like, in life, there’s always a way I can improve. I’m able to improve. And some things that I [did] that seemed right at the time, I could’ve went about it a different way.” Shedeur Sanders said to Cleveland reporters after his selection, about whether he could have done things better in the pre-draft process.

Sanders on if he has any regrets about how he handled the predraft process: “I feel like in life, there’s always a way I can improve. I’m able to improve. And some things that I [did] that seemed eight at the time, I could’ve went about it a different way.” https://t.co/DEAtPSSKIx

Shedeur Sanders, although a very talented quarterback, received plenty of criticism from NFL scouts and analysts for being brash and arrogant in his interviews. Sanders was also condemned for arguing with a ball boy at the Colorado Pro Day.

Apart from his attitude, Sanders’ football skills also came into question. Several NFL scouts pinpointed that the quarterback had a weak throwing arm and could not deliver much in this aspect for any team.

Shedeur Sanders Was One Of Several Who Received Prank Calls During Draft

On another note, Shedeur Sanders’ mysterious prank caller was recently identified as Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons’ defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. Jax Ulbrich had discovered Sanders’ number accidentally and prank-called him on the day of the draft telling him that the New Orleans Saints had drafted him.

Sanders was apparently not the only football player to have received a prank call from Jax Ulbrich. Jax later put up a post apologizing for his actions and the Atlanta Falcons too issued a statement.

The Atlanta Falcons stated that they do not ‘condone’ Jax’s behavior and also apologized to both Shedeur Sanders and his family. According to the post put up by Jax Ulbrich, he has already spoken to Shedeur Sanders and asked for the new Cleveland Browns quarterback to forgive him.
