Shedeur Sanders, newest quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, seems to already have inspired his teammates even before playing his first game in the NFL. Greg Newsome, cornerback for the Browns, recently dropped some nuggets about what he thinks of Sanders and his words seem to reflect that of all the other team members.
Sanders was predicted to not show up in the first round of the NFL draft, but no one expected his name to be called out all the way in the fifth round. 23-year-old Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
“I like Shedeur. … I like a QB that just got that ‘it’ factor. … If you coming in there with that confidence and swagger … that’s my type of guy. Honestly, like, Cam Ward is unbelievable, too, but, like, just straight personality and all that at the quarterback position, like, I remember my rookie year, Ben Roethlisberger, he talking crazy to me, I respect that.” Grey Newsome said about his new teammate, Shedeur Sanders.

Newsome has been playing for the Cleveland Browns since 2021 and was selected by the team as the 26th pick in the very first round of the NFL draft. In the 2024 NFL season, the cornerback managed 24 solo tackles with a single interception for the team.
The Cleveland Browns will do well to have a player like Shedeur Sanders on their squad for the upcoming NFL season. In the 2024 NFL season, the Browns finished at the bottom of the pile in the AFC North after winning only three games and losing 14. The Browns played their very last game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens, losing 35-10.

Shedeur Sanders Received Apology From Atlanta Falcons And Jax Ulbrich
Shedeur Sanders was the victim of an unfortunate prank played by Jax Ulbrich, son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. Jax Ulbrich apparently found Sanders’ number and called him up during the NFL draft, pretending to be a representative of the New Orleans Saints. Ulbrich reportedly told Sanders that he has been drafted by the Saints.

Sanders was not the only victim of Jax Ulbrich’s prank, with many more people receiving prank calls. The Atlanta Falcons recently released an official statement, apologizing on behalf of Jax Ulbrich. Ulbrich himself apologized to Shedeur Sanders personally and even called him up. The incident has enraged NFL fans with some of them calling for Jeff Ulbrich’s resignation.
