The Seattle Seahawks had a solid pass rush last season, ranking 9th in hurries, 17th in QB hits, 9th in pressures, and 12th in sacks.
The team understood the importance of having a rotational pass rush in the NFL by re-signing one of their EDGE rushers.
The Seattle Seahawks re-signed their former 2nd round pick to a one-year deal
Darrell Taylor did not play during his rookie season but played three years of accrued experience. As a result, he was set to become a restricted free agent instead of an unrestricted free agent in 2024. The team had the option of giving him a second-round tender with a non-guaranteed salary of $4.89 million.
Instead of tendering Taylor, both parties agreed to a resolution that would give him a one-year deal with less money, but he would receive some guaranteed money, per Brady Henderson.
“The deal the Seahawks gave OLB Darrell Taylor ahead of the RFA deadline is for one year and $3.136M, a source tells me. Taylor got a $20K signing bonus and a $3.116M non-guaranteed base salary. There’s another $350K available in incentives tied to sacks.”
