The Seattle Seahawks entered today roughly $13 million over the cap and have until March 12 at 3 PM to be salary cap compliant. Seattle will have a busy week, making roster moves left and right to not only be salary cap compliant but also have enough flexibility to retain players and add talent. The Seahawks made a flurry of roster moves today, releasing four players, including their high-paid interior defender/EDGE rusher.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Seahawks released Dre’Mont Jones, along with George Fant, Roy Robertson-Harris, and Rayshawn Jenkins. Cutting Jones will free up $11.572 million ($14.07 million dead cap), and cutting all four frees up $27.25 million in cap space per Jason Fitzgerald of Over The Cap. Finally, the Seahawks now have roughly $16 million in cap space.
