The Seattle Seahawks are suddenly in the midst of a franchise-altering off-season.  Not only have they released Tyler Lockett and are listening to trade offers for DK Metcalf, but they shocked the NFL world when they traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday.

Following the trade, Jaxon Smith-Njigba couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Late Friday Night, Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba woke up to the news that he would have a new quarterback in 2025:

Broooo I just got up 😦 you lying https://t.co/grnF0NLfmb

During the 2023 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected Jaxon Smith-Njigba as their first-round pick. The hamstring injury he suffered in college caused him to miss the last three games of his collegiate career in 2022.

Upon joining the Seahawks, he became their third receiver. He mostly plays in the slot, just like he did for the Ohio State Buckeyes. It was a breakout season for him last year, catching 100 passes for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns.

It will be interesting to see how he responds to being wide receiver #1 in Seattle.
