Should Saquon Barkley be blasted for playing golf with Trump? There should not be a problem with some players of the Philadelphia Eagles being okay with playing a courtesy call with the President, at least this is what one analyst thinks of the matter.
In one of the recent episodes of his program “Fearless,” Jason Whitlock asked guest host Steve Kim for his take on the issue of Saquon Barkley and his playing golf with Trump and going to the Eagles’ White House visit.
“Look, we have to be fair about this,” Kim said. “If you are overly critical of people for either going or not going, look, it should be an individual choice. I get it. Not everybody is going to support Donald Trump. He’s an incredibly polarizing figure. And to be fair, there were guys like Michael Jordan who skipped out on White House visits, and that was criticized.
“I really have a question, though,” Kim added. “Was it your decision or was it your spouse’s? Because I think people are making a point of the fact that Saquon Barkley has a white wife, and then Jaylen Herz has a black wife. So, I’m just wondering, does Jalen Hurts actually not really care? Maybe he wanted to visit the White House, the once-in-a-lifetime experience, or did he get Bill Bird?”

Giants Dodges Question on Trump’s Statement About Saquon Barkley
Former President Donald Trump claimed during the White House celebration for Saquon Barkley that he had advised the New York Giants not to let the star running back leave in free agency. Trump stated that he had spoken with the Giants’ head coach and executives, urging them to do whatever was necessary to keep Barkley, whom he praised for his performance with the team.

However, Giants spokesperson Pat Hanlon denied that any such conversation took place, stating that there were “no conversations” between Trump and the organization regarding Barkley’s future, according to a report by Front Office Sports.
Barkley, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 offseason, faced backlash on social media for golfing with Trump before attending the White House event. In response, he defended his decision, explaining that he respects the office of the presidency, regardless of political affiliations. He also mentioned that he had previously played golf with former President Barack Obama, alongside Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and team owner Jeffrey Lurie.

While Hurts and several Eagles players opted not to attend the White House ceremony, Saquon Barkley, Lurie, head coach Nick Sirianni, and general manager Howie Roseman were present. The White House did not immediately comment on the situation.
