With Week 1 now in the books, there’s somewhat a general idea on which team is projected to stand out from the rest in the NFL. For Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, though, that team is shaping up to be the San Francisco 49ers after their impressive win over the New York Jets.
In their Week 1 matchup, the 49ers defeated the Jets with a score of 32-19, showcasing a dominant performance despite being without star running back Christian McCaffrey. Jordan Mason stepped up in his absence, rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown, effectively leading the 49ers’ ground game. San Francisco controlled the clock, holding a significant time of possession advantage.

The Jets’ defense, usually their strong suit, struggled throughout the game, allowing the 49ers to accumulate 401 total yards. This marked a surprising shift for a team that has relied heavily on its defensive prowess under head coach Robert Saleh. The 49ers executed their game plan effectively, with head coach Kyle Shanahan demonstrating his play-calling expertise, mixing run concepts and passing strategies that kept the Jets on their heels.
Despite an early setback, quarterback Aaron Rodgers managed to orchestrate a promising drive that culminated in a touchdown run from Breece Hall. However, the Jets lacked consistency afterward, failing to capitalize on opportunities and struggling to regain control as the game progressed.
Overall, the 49ers’ victory highlighted their ability to adapt and succeed against a formidable opponent, while the Jets were left to reflect on their defensive shortcomings.
Davante Adams Names San Francisco 49ers as the NFL’s Best Team This Season

After their Week 1 win, the 49ers solidified themselves as one of the teams to watch out for this season. In an episode of Kay Adams’ Up and Adams posted by Bleacher Report, the Raiders acknowledged San Francisco as the best team in the league.
“They might be the best team in football right now. We’ll see how this thing continues to unfold, but they’ve got a hell of a squad every year,” Adams said.
Despite his history with the rival 49ers, having faced them in playoff losses during his time with the Green Bay Packers, Adams recognized their strong roster and impressive performance, albeit with some reluctance.

As the season unfolds, San Francisco will need to address their challenges—San Francisco looking to maintain its momentum. Week 1 served as a crucial learning experience for the 49ers and Adams and everyone else will be keeping an eye on their progress for the entire season.
