The San Francisco 49ers are facing injury woes early this season. Recently, they placed star RB Christian McCaffrey on the Injured Reserve list. Now, there are fears another star offensive skill player on the 49ers may join him. Read below to find out more.
George Kittle Carted Off to Locker Room
Just moments ago, San Francisco 49ers star TE George Kittle was carted off to the locker room in that game against the Minnesota Vikings. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Kittle apparently needed to get an IV in the locker room. However, considering a cart was needed to get Kittle to the locker room, it is unlikely he will return to that game against the Vikings anytime soon.
Already Missing Christian McCaffrey
This was the last thing the 49ers needed considering they are already facing injury woes. Just days ago, 49ers fans found out that star RB Christian McCaffrey would be out for at least four additional games, as he was placed on the team’s Injured Reserve list. If Kittle’s injury is serious, the 49ers could be adding another big offensive weapon to that list.
San Francisco 49ers Losing to Minnesota Vikings
The 49ers have been struggling in their game against the Vikings. At the time of writing, San Francisco was trailing Minnesota by a score of 20-7 entering the fourth quarter. Before Kittle got carted off to the locker room, he had five catches for 56 yards, including one touchdown reception.
Brock Purdy has not had the best day for the 49ers. He has just 184 passing yards, the lone touchdown pass to Kittle, and two interceptions entering the fourth quarter. We will have to see if the 49ers can attempt a comeback short-handed offensively.
