The Kansas City Chiefs, despite winning game after game, still have their doubters, often calling them out for their close wins and how they are able to take advantage of opponent misplays and mistakes. Still, for former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III, the Chiefs is not a force to underestimate.
In a buzzer-beater field goal kick, the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers with a final score of 19-17. While they won, haters are still attributing the Chiefs’ victory on luck, rather than on skill and expertise.
But for Griffin, this is more than just the team getting “lucky” almost every time—rather, it’s a testament to how “dangerous” they are.
“The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t even playing their best ball and keep finding ways to win,” Griffin said. “Yet it feels different than Philadelphia from last year because they have a core 4 in Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones who are all in sync.”

Kansas City Chiefs: Just a Lucky Team?
Right now, the Kansas City Chiefs stand at 12-1, losing only once to the Buffalo Bills. Despite their stellar and near-undefeated record, however, a lot of people are doubting the skills and capabilities of the Chiefs, with some people arguing that they are just winning out of “luck.”
This came from how the Kansas City Chiefs have won most of their games so far. They would either win by a few points, and only catch up near the end of the game. They would also sometimes get beaten for most of the game, only for the opposing team to make a wrong play and for the Chiefs to take advantage of it and finally catch up.
For Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, it is more about proper coaching rather than mere luck.
“You can call it luck. You can call it fortune. You can call it guys just playing their ass off until the last second is off that clock,” Kelce said. “And we know a lot of weird (stuff) happens in this league. I think both sides of the ball do a great job of — that is, the coaches do a great job of making sure the players know how wacky things happen in this league, let alone in this game.”
He added: “If there is a chance to win, if there is still a chance on that board, you keep playing.”
The Kansas City Chiefs currently sit at the top of the AFC West, and have been the reigning top team for nine straight years.
