There’s no secret to Rob McElhenney’s passion for the Philadelphia Eagles, and once again, the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator is proving just how deep his fandom runs. Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Rob McElhenney, his Wife and Co-Star Kaitlin Olson joined Abbott Elementary Stars Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams in New Orleans showing their unwavering support for the Birds as they get ready to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rob McElhenney, who has been one of the most vocal celebrity Eagles fans for years, took to social media to share a snapshot of the group posing in front of a private jet, all decked out in Eagles green. His caption? A simple but powerful, “Oh hello New Orleans. #FlyEaglesFly.” The Eagles faithful went wild on Twitter over the post, which served as a fiery launch of excitement for the big game.

Rob McElhenney and Quinta Brunson Love for Philly
McElhenney and Brunson have also shared a love for Philly’s beloved football team before. The two were briefly united back in November when they appeared in a Sunday Night Football promo together for a bit of TV magic blending their unique TV properties, It’s Always Sunny and Abbott Elementary, for an Eagles-themed moment. Now their support has crossed the screen and reached the Super Bowl stage, the Eagles making this crossover just as exciting for TV fans as much as Eagles fans.

It’s Always Sunny has always seemed to include a running theme of the Eagles and their rabid fan base, with Rob McElhenney’s affection for his fellow Philadelphia football team season upon season. Whether it’s his viral reaction to the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII win in 2018 or his part-ownership with Ryan Renolds of the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC where he has raised his voice for the same passion and loyalty as he has done for the Birds, his commitment to Philadelphia sports is well known.
Here, kickoff is just a few hours away and the Eagles’ charge is led by McElhenney and the rest of his company in hyping up Eagles fans everywhere. Whether the Eagles win another Lombardi trophy or not, Rob McElhenney will remain one of the most dedicated and entertaining superfans the Eagles have.
