Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, did not attend the Super Bowl celebration at the White House, hosted by none other than US President Donald Trump. Hurts was not the only Eagles player who chose to not attend the celebration, but several other Eagles followed suit.
The Super Bowl winning team visiting the White House goes back to 1980 when then President Jimmy Carter invited the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers and the MLB’s Pittsburgh Pirates who won the World Series back then. Since then, the tradition has continued with each passing president.
“White House confirms for me Hurts won’t attend today’s ceremony at the White House. Says he has a scheduling conflict. ‘The vast majority of the team is coming, and those who cannot attend had scheduling conflicts,’ person familiar says,” Julia Terruso tweeted through her X account about Jalen Hurts and a few other Eagles players for not attending the Super Bowl celebration reasoning ‘scheduling conflicts’.

Jalen Hurts did not seem keen at all in meeting US President Donald Trump and celebrating his Super Bowl win with him. This is despite the POTUS openly supporting the Eagles during the Super Bowl matchup between the Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs a few months back. In fact, in a recent red carpet event, Hurts was asked about his plans of attendance, to which the talented quarterback responded with an, “ummmm”.

Jalen Hurts May Have Missed White House Visit Due To Honeymoon
It is not exactly known as to why the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts, chose to skip the White House celebration, even though ‘scheduling conflicts’ was mentioned as a reason. According to some sources, Hurts did not attend the celebration as he is currently on his honeymoon with new wifey Bryonna Burrows.

Hurts and Burrows have been together since 2016 after meeting at the University of Alabama. The couple got engaged last year and married this year in April after Hurts won the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.
26-year-old quarterback, Jalen Hurts has been playing for the Philadelphia Eagles since 2020 after being selected as the 53rd pick in the second round of the NFL draft. Hurts has won the Super Bowl only once and made it to two Pro Bowls.

In the 2024 NFL season, Hurts threw for a total of 2,903 yards, scoring 18 touchdowns, while managing five interceptions for the team. In the Super Bowl matchup against the Chiefs, Hurts attempted 22 passes and completed 17, scoring three touchdowns in total.
