The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers square off in a massive matchup on Sunday that has division implications written all over it. Pittsburgh (7 -2) will host Baltimore (in 7 -3) at 1:00pm Eastern.
However, Baltimore had some pretty massive news to announce prior to kick off.
Ravens Announce Massive Addition Prior To Matchup Vs. Steelers
According to Baltimore’s official website:
Star safety Kyle Hamilton said he will play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a battle for first place in the AFC North.
Hamilton returned to practice Thursday, a week following his ankle injury against the Bengals, and was back on the field Friday as a full participant. He carries no injury designation.
“I think it was big for me to get out and at least do a full practice before the game,” Hamilton said. “The trainers did a good job getting me back healthy, and I feel good.”
The Ravens’ 32nd-ranked secondary needs him, as Hamilton takes on a wide range of responsibilities and will be a key player in slowing down Pittsburgh’s hot offense that has averaged more than 30 points per game over the past three weeks since Russell Wilson took over as the starter.
Hamilton leads the team in tackles (71) and defensed passes (seven), along with sacks, tackles for loss, and forced fumbles. On Pro Football Focus, he is Baltimore’s highest-graded defender.
“I think if I’m able to play, I’m going to play. Playing through pain or whatever – not saying that I am right now – I think it’s important,” Hamilton said.
“We only get a handful of these games. It’s’ not like we’re in the MLB or NBA – every single one of these counts, especially this one [with a] division opponent on the road. I want to be available as much as possible for my team, and I think I was just raised, ‘If you can go, go.’ So, I’ll do that.”
