Surprising fans watching Sunday’s NFL Countdown, Hall of Fame wide receiver and longtime ESPN analyst Randy Moss brought a pair of blue-tinted sunglasses to the table. Moss’s glasses may seem out of place, but Moss explained that a personal health matter advised them.
“I’m battling something internal,” Moss shared with viewers. “I have some great doctors around me, and I feel great. I just couldn’t miss the show—had to be here with y’all. But if you see me with these Michigan turnover glasses, it’s not disrespectful; it’s just what I’ve got to do right now.”
Prayers for NFL Legend Randy Moss 🙏
“You were talking about my eyes last week… I just want to let the viewers know that me and my wife, me & my family, we are battling something internally.”

While he didn’t elaborate on his condition, the charismatic straight-shooter reassured everyone that he was on top of it. He also used the moment to urge the audience to look after their health.
In a pre-show Instagram video, he said: ‘Y’all do your checkups, you get your bloodwork done, let’s work through it.’
“Throughout the week of the holidays, your boy has been battling something internally. I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessed hands on me and my family through these hard times.”
Hoping everything is alright with Randy Moss 🙏

Randy Moss and Crew Keeping It Light-Hearted
The sunglasses sparked some light-hearted humor among his colleagues, with Adam Schefter dubbing them ‘Michigan turnover glasses’ – a play on the Wolverines’ win over rival Ohio State the day before. Even under difficult circumstances, Moss was still the awesome, fun-loving personality his fans love.
Moss is one of the most respected football analyst voices out there and has been a key figure on Sunday NFL Countdown since 2016. He has become a familiar fixture on ESPN’s coverage because of his ability to reach fans and peers alike.

Moss, however, hasn’t said how sick he is and his appearance on the show and openness about it demonstrate his commitment to his work and his fans.
Here’s hoping Randy Moss battles on like he battled on the field, a legend. He’s got the fans across the nation rooting for him.
