For quite a while now, there has been a narrative that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not a good teammate. Media personalities point to his body language on the field and on the sidelines, as well as his in-season podcast appears with the Pat McAfee Show has evidence to fit their view of him.
However, when one looks into what his current and former teammates have said about him, it is easy to see that this narrative is far from true. Sure, there are some that do not care for him and have not been shy about it. That being said, those accounts are few and far between the stories of others that have showered the four-time NFL MVP with praise for the way he treats his teammates.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Has Always Praised Pittsburgh Steelers Star Aaron Rodgers

One of the players that has constantly defended Rodgers in regards to how he treats teammates is Jordan Love, whom the Green Bay Packers selected to succeed the future Pro Football Hall of Famer in the 2020 NFL Draft.
At the time that Love was drafted, Rodgers was not happy. He resented Green Bay for thinking that he was declining and wanting to eventually replace him. But he never took that frustration out on Love.
The Packers quarterback recently said, “I appreciate definitely the way A-Rod just handled being in that situation. I think a big part of it was, which he told me, he knows how it was for him being in the same position and things that he went through and just the way the situation might have been handled. I think his perspective was, ‘I’m trying to go about this a little bit differently,’ which I think was awesome.
“In my time with A-Rod, we had a great relationship. It was awesome being in the room with him, being able to learn. He was amazing with everything. I definitely appreciate the way he handled everything on the outside with obviously leaving and me taking over and things like that. I think he’s been great, very supportive of me, and definitely helped with some of the negativity and things like that that might come with that. A-Rod handled it like a pro and did me very, very right.”
And now another young quarterback is saying the same thing.
Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Will Howard Has High Praise for Aaron Rodgers

Before Rodgers signed with Pittsburgh, the team was preparing to enter the 2025 NFL season with Mason Rudolph as their starting quarterback. They also selected Ohio State’s Will Howard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft as a possible answer at the position.
And as he did with Love in Green Bay, Rodgers has taken Howard under his wing, working closely with the young rookie during mandatory minicamp.
Howard recently said of Rodgers, “He’s been so awesome to me so far. Obviously, we’ve only gotten to be together for about three days, but I got a really good feeling about him, about this whole QB room. I think we already, in this past week, meshed really well, hit it off. I think we got a good vibe, good group. Aaron has been so willing to help me. He’s like, ‘Literally, as much or as little as you want me to help you, I’ll be there.’
“He’s already given me tips, little things here and there in the meeting room, on the field, in my drops, different little things. Obviously, I can’t do the things that he can do mechanically, so I don’t want to replicate that too much because that’s pretty unique. But for the most part, everything I can learn from that guy is invaluable.”
Howard also said that, when sitting in the film room, Rodgers sought him out to sit next to him and give him advice.
While the narrative surrounding Rodgers will continue to be controversial, it is easy to see that he is already well-liked by many players in the Steelers locker room. The season has not started yet, of course, and Pittsburgh has an uphill battle ahead of them when it comes to postseason contention, but Rodgers is doing all the right things when it comes to building relationships with his teammates.
