The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be a very interesting team to keep an eye on throughout the 2024 NFL season. With a new-look offense and a solid defense, the team is hoping to be able to get back into contention in the AFC.
While training camp is close to getting underway, the Steelers could be open to making a move if it improves the roster.
One area that they could still improve would be at the safety position. There are a couple of good safeties available on the free agency market.
Pittsburgh Steelers Urged To Pursue Huge Move for Former 3-Time All-Pro
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has urged the Pittsburgh Steelers to pursue former three-time All-Pro safety Jamal Adams.
“Jamal Adams is another intriguing option. Though coverage isn’t his strongest trait, he’s been a difference-making box safety in the past.”
Adams would certainly be an intriguing addition. If he can get back to full health, Adams is still more than capable of being a high-impact player.
During the 2023 season with the Seattle Seahawks, Adams was able to play in nine games. He racked up 48 total tackles and two defended passes.
Will he ever get back to being the Pro Bowl star that he once was? No one knows the answer to that question. However, he’s worth a shot on a cheap one-year contract.
At the very worst, the moves doesn’t pan out and the Pittsburgh Steelers move on from him. If he pans out, he could be a high-end starting safety for the Steelers.
These late-offseason moves are additions that can take a good team over the hump. If healthy and able to play how he used to, Adams could be that kind of piece. He could take the Pittsburgh defense to another level.
Expect to see Adams get picked up prior to the start of the 2024 season. He is worth a shot and the Steelers should be the team that takes the chance on him.
