The 2024 NFL season is right around the corner and the Pittsburgh Steelers are widely expected to take a big step forward from where they were last year. Najee Harris is back for another year, but there are questions swirling about what his future holds with the franchise.
After the team opted to not exercise his option for next season, there is a lot of speculation that the 2024 season could be his last year with the Steelers.
Despite the uncertainty that he’s facing about the future, Harris has not changed his mindset or approach. He has focused on the upcoming season and being the best version of himself to help Pittsburgh win.
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris Has Not Changed Despite Uncertainty
Brian Batko, a Pittsburgh Steelers’ insider, has reported that running backs coach Eddie Faulkner has not noticed any changes when it comes to Harris.
“Najee’s been totally fine; you haven’t gotten anything different whatsoever.”
Not only has Harris not shown any signs of frustration, Batko also stated that he has provided veteran leadership and is eager to lead the team when given the opportunities.
“His enthusiasm was on display several days throughout the spring, leading drills for the running backs as their unquestioned vocal veteran and making his presence felt at optional workouts, despite his contractual uncertainty beyond this year.”
Harris is still going to be a big part of the 2024 offense, no matter what his future with the team ends up being.
During the 2023 season with the Steelers, Harris racked up 1,035 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. He also caught 29 passes for 170 yards.
While no one knows where Harris will end up being next season, it seems he’s still excited to be with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’ll do his best to earn a future with the team. Even if he’s not back, he seems poised to finish out what could be his last year with the Steelers on a positive note.
