The 9-3 Pittsburgh Steelers host the 3-9 Cleveland Browns at Acrisure Stadium for their 13th regular season game and final matchup between their division rivals for the 2024 season. The last time these two teams met, the Browns upset the Steelers 24-19 in a snowstorm a few weeks ago on Thursday Night Football. With a win at home, the Steelers creep one step closer to clinching a playoff spot.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ elite WR1 popped up late in the injury report
Steelers elite leading receiver George Pickens surprisingly popped up on Friday’s injury report with a hamstring injury and was a limited participant. The Steelers released the week’s final injury report on Friday and listed Pickens as questionable. During Saturday night, there was optimism that their elite offensive weapon was going to play.
What is his official game status?
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, George Pickens will not play against the Cleveland Browns. As Schefter points out, Pickens intended to play today, but the Steelers are wisely playing it safe and want to protect him in the long term since hamstrings can linger. Unfortunately, this will be his first game missed in his young NFL career. He will be missed.
George Pickens intended to play today vs. the Browns, but after conversations this morning, the Steelers decided to take a long-term view and not risk the hamstring injury that he suffered at the end of the week. Thus Pickens is inactive.
