The Pittsburgh Steelers may not yet know who their quarterback will be in 2025, but they have made sure that whoever it is has another Pro Bowl wide receiver to target. According to multiple reports, Pittsburgh has landed two-time Pro Bowl pass catcher DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks:

In addition to trading for Metcalf, the Steelers are also giving him a four-year $132 million contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. He is now under contract for five more years and $150 million. Metcalf had one year and $18 million remaining on his contract prior to the trade.
What the Pittsburgh Steelers Gave Up to Get DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks

On top of shoveling out $150 million over the next five years, the Steelers also sent Seattle a second round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Given the market for wide receivers lately, Pittsburgh may have gotten a bargain.
The news of the trade and extension comes just days after the Seahawks traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for a third round pick.
Prior to the Smith deal, Seattle had been asking for a first and third round pick in exchange for Metcalf. Obviously, they did not get any offers that came anywhere near that, so they lowered the asking price to just a second round pick.
Pittsburgh late second round pick (52 overall) was obviously enough to get the deal done.
