Former Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is arguably the most controversial football player out there. So, when you see Brown post a controversial tweet, it is rarely a surprise.

That is why last night’s tweet of his about the WNBA is so notable. After calling the league a “charity for lesbians”, fans took the time to call him out for this. However, it is not for the reason you would expect. Read below to find out more.

Last night, Antonio Brown posted this tweet on his Twitter account. He linked an article discussing the current state of the WNBA. The article had one quote from a WNBA executive stating that the league is expecting to lose $50 million this season despite its new popularity. It led to the following rant on Brown’s account:

“This why I’ve found all the WNBA talk to be hilarious. Nobody actually watches it. So when you’re arguing about it, you’re not really arguing about a professional sport. It’s more of just a charity for lesbians. #CTESPN”

Antonio Brown’s Account Copied Tweet Posted by Jesse Kelly

Antonio Brown removed his jersey and pads and walked off the field shirtless in the middle of his last NFL game.

If the caption was not controversial enough, there is another aspect of this tweet that has left fans floored. Antonio Brown’s account had the audacity to copy this caption word for word. The only difference was adding “#CTESPN” to the end of it.

So, who wrote the original tweet? It circles back to Jesse Kelly, who is an author and the host of the “Jesse Kelly Show.” Kelly did tweet a response to this after finding out that Brown copied his tweet:

“People ask if this stuff bothers me. It does not. If I wasn’t me, I’d copy me too.”

Fans More Upset About Tweet Being Copied

Believe it or not, fans responding to Antonio Brown’s tweet seem to be more upset about the account blatantly copying it from Kelly rather than what was actually said. It has led to more fans accursing Brown of not running his own Twitter page. Here are some of the most notable comments from these fans:

“0 chance AB wrote this btw”

“I miss when AB ran this account”

“This definitely a white barstool sports looking nerd that runs this page now”

    “Nice copy and paste skills”

“You could say it’s a “bush league””

“Kinda like when someone copies and pastes someone else’s post to try and get the engagements… eh bub???”
