The Ohio State Buckeyes are considered to be one of the most top-notch, efficiently run programs in the country, and that has attracted many recruits.
One such recruit is 2027 athlete Bryce Tolliver, a native of Hobart, Indiana who has recently begun to appear on the collegiate recruiting radar. Tolliver has received plenty of early attention from Purdue and Central Michigan, and even visited the Boilermakers for a game this season. With the recruiting process just starting, a dream the recruit has had may soon be something that is a reality.
When asked about the recruiting process, Tolliver stated, “My recruiting process has been going really good, talking to more and more coaches each day.” However, Tolliver added that Purdue, Central Michigan, and St. Francis have been three programs speaking with him nearly every day.
While Tolliver might not be swimming in scholarship offers just yet, the recruit is in a position where he can begin to develop relationships with coaches. When asked about what he is looking for during the recruiting process, Tolliver stated, “I’m looking for a school with a big history and one that surrounds the team with a good environment, community, and traditions.”
The talented athlete also added, “A great faculty throughout the program and school makes the interest higher within my own standings.”
Currently, Tolliver is riding the wave of the recruiting process and allowing himself to be both flexibility and curious. As college football fans have seen in the recent months, many recruits and current players have been caught in situations where “bad business” has been done. For example, the UNLV Rebels situation involving a fake agent and broken promises from the coaching staff.
Tolliver has stayed vigilant, and used this time in the process to unravel the why his love for the Ohio State Buckeyes is truly so deep, and how it can impact his recruiting with other programs.
What Could Bryce Tolliver Offer the Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team?
When it comes to the Ohio State Buckeyes, the appreciation for upholding a certain standard and consistently producing elevated talent is something Tolliver cannot help but appreciate.
When asked about why the Ohio State Buckeyes are his dream program, Tolliver stated, “The production that they have put forth and produced throughout the history of the program.” The athlete also added that he admires the “talent walking through those doors” regardless of “where the talent is coming from” geographically.
Most notably, Tolliver believes that the Buckeyes “uphold the standard and the requirements of what a Division-1 player should be.” The athlete believes this to be one of his top factors when it comes down to labeling the Ohio State Buckeyes as his “dream” program.
While the Buckeyes may not have shelled out a scholarship offer to Tolliver yet, the potential fit for the recruit into then team can already be seen. Tolliver is a wide receiver and safety, but after briefly speaking with the recruit, the defensive-minded nature can truly be seen. Tolliver has an excellent ability to breakdown the play occurring on the field and predict where the development of the play is going to occur.
When asked about what the recruit feels separates from other talented athletes, Tolliver stated, “I always have great field awareness, breakaway speed, ability to make big time stops, and an ability to keep my teammates focused.” When watching the athlete on film, it is truly hard to deny the talents that he has pointed out as Tolliver stands out in the film room. Between his speed, vision, and ability to reach the play regardless of where he began allows the athlete to dominate at times.
With the way that Tolliver has been playing, an offer from the Ohio State Buckeyes and other top teams seems likely.
