The Philadelphia Eagles put any lingering speculation about Nick Sirianni’s future to rest by signing the Super Bowl-winning head coach to a multi-year extension this week.
“Obviously, very thankful to [Chairman/CEO] Mr. [Jeffrey] Lurie,” Sirianni told reporters during Eagles OTAs. “For believing in me to hire me four years ago, and that I’m able to continue being the head football coach of this team and just can’t thank him and the organization and [Executive Vice President/General Manager] Howie [Roseman] enough for everything.
“What a great owner we have. Like I said, I can’t be more thankful. My family’s thankful. I’m thankful and I love being the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and looking forward to continuing on.”

One detail that hasn’t emerged is just how long Sirianni’s new deal ties him to the Eagles, and it is his hope that it remains that way.
“I’m not going to get into the details of any of that stuff. Sorry, I don’t want to,” Sirianni said.
One thing seems certain, so long as Sirianni keeps delivering and the Eagles continue making lengthy postseason runs or can add a third Lombardi Trophy, his stay in Philadelphia will continue.
Nick Sirianni Reveals What’s Fueled His Success as Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach

While the Eagles have made two Super Bowl appearances and had a parade down Broad Street during Sirianni’s tenure, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
Following Philadelphia’s historic collapse from a 10-1 start to the 2023 campaign to falling on the road to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round, there were whispers that Sirianni could be ousted, despite reaching the Super Bowl the prior season.
However, now with a Super Bowl ring on his finger, Sirianni says that his life experiences inside and out of football have been instrumental in shaping his coaching philosophies and his drive to succeed.
“Everybody that is striving to reach the top of the mountain or whatever it is,” Sirianni said. “Like we try to do every single year, adversity is going to be there regardless. I really look at any adversity that I’ve ever been through in my life, whether it was my leg injury in 2001, whether it was my dad going through cancer, whether it was the collapse of our season at the end of the 2023 season and finishing 1-6.
“Every one of those things, whether it’s scrutiny from, like you said [my] first press conference, I can look at the good in all those things and find good in all those things and how it’s shaped me to be who I am today and has made me better as a result of it. You never want to go through those things as you go through them, but if you allow it to shape you, it really does.”
Thanks to this new contract, Sirianni won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, and the Eagles hope that a loaded roster and consistency at the top will fuel multiple runs at adding to the franchise’s trophy case.
