The Philadelphia Eagles received major news for the postseason on Sunday. The Eagles are preparing to play the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.
Their game against the Seahawks might help determine the Eagles’ final playoff seed, but one important part of the postseason equation is over as of Sunday. According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Eagles clinched a playoff spot.
Cowboys and Eagles both clinched playoff spots today for the third consecutive season.

The Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers came into Week 15 atop the NFC with 10-3 records. The Cowboys, who clinched earlier in the afternoon Sunday, lost to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15. The 49ers defeated the Arizona Cardinals.
Should the Eagles win Monday night, they would still be behind the 49ers in NFC playoff seeding. The 49ers defeated the Eagles earlier this month, so they hold the tiebreaker.
