The Philadelphia Eagles look to build on last season’s standout performance in coverage, ranking first in passing yards and tied for sixth in passing touchdowns in 2024. The good news is that the secondary retained two key cornerbacks, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, with one vacancy remaining. The Eagles will have a competition for the second outside corner spot to replace Darius Slay and Isaiah Rodgers.
Philadelphia Eagles’ 4th-round pick has had a rough start to career

Kelee Ringo began his rookie season buried on the depth chart and only played one defensive snap from Weeks 1 to 13. Due to injuries, he took over as the starter late in the year, starting four of the last five games. Ringo recorded 21 tackles, one interception, and two pass deflections, allowing a 63.6% completion percentage, 102 passing yards, one touchdown, and an 86.2 passer rating in 199 snaps, the sixth-most at the position.
Kelee Ringo lost the number four cornerback job to Isaiah Rodgers in his second season. He once again played a minimal role on defense, but started in Week 18. Ringo recorded 15 tackles and one pass deflection, allowed a 55.6% completion percentage, 113 passing yards, one touchdown, and a 137.5 passer rating in 112 snaps, the sixth-most at the position.
Philadelphia Eagles’ underdog has taken the early lead

After splitting reps with the starting defense with Adoree’ Jackson in voluntary OTAs, Kelee Ringo received first-team reps during mandatory minicamp. In fact, the former 4th-round pick has taken the early lead and impressed the coaching staff in minicamp. Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94Wip.com notes that if Ringo continues his streak of playing well into training camp, he will start in Week 1.

Philadelphia Eagles’ underdog on pivotal 3rd season

During Wednesday’s press conference, via David Neisz of Philly Sports Network, Kelee Ringo was asked about what he is focusing on as he enters a pivotal third season. He said he is concentrating on everything to his technique, stretching, and understanding the playbook. Ringo also explained his mindset amid the number two cornerback competition.
“Taking that next step of focusing on your technique. From little things like stretching, I learned the playbook. All different things that can help you get an edge over all besides just your talent. That’s the main thing I’ve been focusing on right now,” Ringo said, via Neisz.
“Somebody can always tell you but until you step your foot in there, you don’t really understand why. I’ve always been a person to understand ‘Why am I doing this? How can this help me? How can this help my game?’ Just always getting smarter and understanding the game overall can definitely enhance myself.”
