The Philadelphia Eagles acquired John Metchie III from the Houston Texans on Sunday due to concerns over their receiving corps. When A.J. Brown missed four games in 2024, the offense struggled significantly because of it. The Eagles went 2-2 when Brown did not play and 1-1 when he and DeVonta Smith missed the same game.

If the Eagles provide Metchie with ample playing time and plenty of targets, which the Houston Texans failed to do, he has a chance to revive his NFL career.
