The Philadelphia Eagles always find talented players in the NFL Draft. General manager Howie Roseman is also never afraid to make trades with other teams. Philadelphia has been one of the best teams in the NFL for the past few years.
They will be in for a big season in 2024 after the 2023 collapse. The Eagles have the most talent on paper in the NFC East division. Philadelphia was just in the Super Bowl two years ago against the Kansas City Chiefs before losing it.

Last season, the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round. This will be a big season for head coach Nick Sirianni and also general manager Howie Roseman.
Pro Football Focus Names Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Back Cooper DeJean As the Rookie To Watch For This Football Team In 2024

DeJean isn’t only going to be a potential x-factor for the Philadelphia Eagles this season, but Pro Football Focus has him as the rookie to watch for this football team this season. Jim Wyman and Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus wrote about Cooper DeJean being the rookie to watch out for on this football team:
“DeJean surprisingly fell to the second round of this year’s draft, but he could immediately start in the slot for a team that ranked dead last in slot coverage grade last season. DeJean is a fundamentally sound coverage player who is also an excellent tackler. He’s also an excellent fit in Vic Fangio’s zone-heavy defense.”
It was a surprise that he fell to the 40th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. DeJean played college football at Iowa. It was a surprise that the Green Bay Packers or other teams that needed a defensive back did not take him in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Several NFL Mock drafts had DeJean going in the first round.

The Philadelphia Eagles had massive problems on the backend of the defense last season and it was one of the reasons why Philadelphia collapsed. Cooper DeJean a season ago with the Iowa Hawkeyes in 10 games played, recorded 41 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, and five pass deflections.
DeJean had a season-ending injury and it could have been one of the reasons why his draft stock fell. The Philadelphia Eagles hope he grows into his own right away. If DeJean performs well right away, they could be forced to trade or release James Bradberry. Bradberry did not play well last season for the Eagles.
